More on the new website....

One of the benefits of the new web site is the easy navigation and we know you'll like how intituitve and simple the menus at the top of the pages are to use.  You'll find the latest news from and about the credit union under "News and Notes".  You can also comment on my blog postings (or anything) there.  You can get started on creating a financial plan under "Your Finances" and some of our most exciting development work will enhance that part even more.  Anything and everything you need to do to manage your finances is under "Banking".  My favorite section is "The Forum" where you can pose questions and retrieve answers about anything TFCU related.  Our "Reference Library" is where you'll find useful consumer-oriented information in easy to understand language .  Looking for something else?  Ask about it in the Forum or perhaps find it in the "More" section.

More "moves" in store - different type of move!

The next time you access our website, you might do a double take!  That's because any day now, we'll be loading our totally new and improved website from our testing files into our live files.  The same links to the ATM and shared branch locations and online banking will be there but the information is now organized into five seperate "standing" categories and the links you access most often are displayed on the bottom of every page.  We know you're going to love the new features and functionality and we can't wait to receive your feedback.  Here are some sneak previews:

Are we on the right track? We think so!

And it’s articles like this that only help to confirm it for us:  a recent study by the American Bankers Association shows that “for the first time, more consumers prefer the speed and convenience of banking on the Internet than visiting their local branch….AND…that consumers now have confidence in the accuracy and security of online banking.”

That’s very good news for one of the very first credit unions in the country (us!) to have made the commitment to “Go Virtual”, and essentially rely on the Internet and related means to deliver world-class banking services to our member-owners.

The survey showed that online banking is not exclusive to the youngest age groups.  Respondents under 55 said internet banking was their preferred banking method.  Those over 55 still prefer to visit a branch or use ATMs.  But overall, the popularity of ATMs has declined.  Our members must be the exception to the rule - our members 55 and older use our Internet Branch just as much as younger members.

We'd love to hear your thoughts - please let us know what you think.  .
